NC State Football: 3 Bold predictions vs Pitt in Week 7
After losing to South Carolina in Week 1, NC State football has been on an absolute tear in the ACC Atlantic division. Here are 3 things bold predictions for Week 7 vs Pitt.
NC State has been scary good this season.
After losing to South Carolina in Week 1 by a single touchdown, the NC State Wolfpack have delivered a string of incredibly impressive victories and put the rest of the country on notice as to just how good they have the potential to be down the stretch.
Once considered a mere afterthought to the likes of Clemson, Florida State and Louisville, NC State has ravaged the depleted ACC Atlantic with a powerful one-two punch of offensive and defensive domination. They road that wave of success to a 3-0 conference record.
But even after defeating a then ranked Florida State squad, albeit without their starting quarterback Deondre Francois, in Week 3, few expected the Wolfpack to truly contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff. But that all changed when NC State dropped the hammer on in-conference rivals Louisville in front of their home crowd on national television.
In many fans first opportunity to watch the Wolfpack up close and personal. NC State looked like the better team against 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson‘s Louisville squad. They will need to continue to build upon that momentum if they are to have any chance defeating upcoming opponents No. 16 Notre Dame, and No. 2 Clemson later this month.
But before NC State can return to the national spotlight for a pair potentially AP Poll altering bouts, they will need to travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to face off against the unranked Pitt Panthers.
Pitt has been incredibly underwhelming this season, but could still deliver an upset against an unsuspecting team like they did last season against the eventual national champions the Clemson Tigers.
If the Wolfpack want to remain undefeated in conference play, and ride their current wave of momentum into late October, they will need to perform like a finally tuned machine against the Panthers.
Here are three bold predictions for NC State’s Week 7 road trip to Pitt.
