Baylor football has started the season 0-5 and the schedule doesn’t get much easier with Oklahoma State in week 7. Here’s how to watch.

Baylor is continuing to try to get in the win column this season. The Bears are coming off of a much-needed bye week following another tough loss, this time to Kansas State. Baylor has come close but they have not been able to put together a complete game this season. The biggest loss this year was by 14 points to Duke. Oklahoma State is much more dynamic on offense than any team they have faced so far.

Oklahoma State is coming off of a big win in Lubbock against Texas Tech. The lone loss for the Cowboys came at the hands of undefeated  TCU. Oklahoma State looks to make a statement and notch another important Big 12 win.

Here is everything you need to know about the game.

Date: Saturday, Oct. 14

Keys to Victory

Baylor is getting some help with players returning from injury. Tight ends Ishmail Wainright and Jordan Feuerbacher will both be returning this week along with starting running back JaMycal Hasty. Hasty was injured in Week 1 and Oklahoma State will be his first action since then. Baylor is going to need all the help it can get offensively to keep up with high-octane Cowboys.

Defensively they are still missing K.J. Smith with shin splints and that is bad news for a unit that has struggled to stop the run. If the Bears was to stay in this game they are going to have to stop the run and make Oklahoma State one-dimensional. If Baylor can establish the run game with a full stable of running backs and stop the run they have a puncher change to stay competitive.

Prediction

Oklahoma State will start of hot and score a couple of quick touchdowns to start the game. Baylor will battle back and close the gap to end the first quarter down 21-10. Oklahoma State will add 10 points in second quarter and Baylor will add another touchdown to make score 31-17 at the half. Baylor will storm back in second half to make it competitive but alas they will drop another close game in the fourth quarter.

Final Score: Oklahoma State 45, Baylor 35
