Texas A&M Football: 5 reasons James Franklin isn’t a good fit for the Aggies

Is Texas A&M football really planning on going after Penn State head coach James Franklin if they bite the bullet and fire Kevin Sumlin? It doesn’t make sense.

A report from CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd started circulating Thursday afternoon that Franklin would be the top target for the Aggies for their head coaching position in 2018.

Yes, Sumlin still has his job at the moment, but the pressure continues to mount for the A&M leader. He has a key matchup this week with Florida in “The Swamp” on deck.

Would Franklin make for an upgrade over Sumlin in terms of what he brings to the Aggies?

Most definitely.

Does it make the most sense for Franklin to take the job, leaving his spot in Happy Valley for that of College Station?

That’s where things get a little more interesting.
