Clemson football’s Kelly Bryant took a scary hit on a sack against Syracuse and chances are he’s out with a concussion.

Things are not looking good for Clemson football against Syracuse on Friday night as the Tigers might be without their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.

While you might think this has something to do with the fact he was nursing a sore ankle heading into the Week 7 matchup on the road, it actually happened after a scary hit slammed Kelly Bryant to the ground. The first-year starter had been slow all night long with an injured ankle and during a sack late in the first half, he was slammed to the ground and couldn’t get back up.

It was a scary moment for everyone as Bryant laid lifeless on the ground until trainers came out to check out him. There was little movement for a while until he finally moved his legs around and seemingly came to.

Prior to the hit, it was obvious that Bryant wasn’t playing like his normal effective self. He was limping on scrambles and shying away from contact. He finished the first half 12-of-17 with 116 passing yards and had four rushes for minus-eight yards.

Head coach Dabo Swinney was asked what the injury was to his starting quarterback and he admitted that it was probably a concussion.

If that’s the case, it might be a few weeks before the talented dual-threat is able to take the field again. Luckily the Tigers have a bye in Week 8 and that will give him enough time to nurse his ankle and recover from the potential head injury. The Tigers were on upset alert, down 17-14 at halftime against the Orange.
