Louisville football will host Boston College in Week 7 and here are three bold predictions for the ACC battle.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Louisville football. The Cardinals began the season ranked highly in the polls, but have since dropped completely out after losses to Clemson and NC State. Is this team just not as good as we thought coming into the year? It’s tough to tell.

The second half of the year will be important for Louisville, especially when it comes to its quest for a New Year’s Six bowl.

Boston College, on the other hand, is a shell of its former self defensively. The Eagles allow over 400 yards of offense per game and that side of the ball used to be a major strength of this team. Will they be able to step up and contain Lamar Jackson?

Take a look at our three bold predictions for the matchup.

3. Jaire Alexander records two picks

Finally coming back from injury, junior cornerback Jaire Alexander is going to have his first big game of the season for the Cardinals. He played sparingly last week, but he said he’s ready to play extensively against a Boston College team that averages just 164 yards per game through the air.

However, the Eagles will be playing from behind on Saturday afternoon, forcing them to throw more than they would like to. Freshman quarterback Anthony Brown has been prone to turnovers, throwing seven this year as opposed to just six touchdowns.

Alexander had five interceptions last season during his breakout campaign and he will come back to have a hot start to the second half of the year. Alexander will pick Brown off late in the first half to set up a short drive for the Cardinals and then he’ll pick his second pass off in the second half with just a few minutes remaining in the game.

Will he be on track to equal his five picks from a year ago? This will surely be a good start.
