TCU football will travel to Manhattan to take on Kansas State in Week 7 and here’s everything you need to know.

Who expected TCU football to be ranked this high at this point in the season? Definitely not the experts as the Horned Frogs weren’t even ranked to begin the season. They brought back some talent from last year’s team and have jumped out to a 5-0 start and are No. 6 in the polls.

Kansas State, on the other hand, began the season ranked, but has since fallen out of the AP poll thanks to a shaky 3-2 start. Bill Snyder will still have his guys playing at a high level, but he seems to have a bit of a quarterback controversy.

Jesse Ertz began the season as the clear starting quarterback, but he hasn’t been quite as effective as expected. An injury knocked him out of the Texas game and he was replaced by sophomore Alex Delton who played well. Will there be a two-quarterback system in place?

The Horned Frogs are led by the oft-underrated Kenny Hill who has passed for 1,153 yards and 10 touchdowns with only three interceptions. He looks like a much-improved quarterback for the Horned Frogs this season.

Here’s how to watch Saturday’s TCU football game:

Date: Saturday, Oct. 14
Time: 12:00 p.m. ET
Location: Manhattan, Kan.
Venue: Bill Snyder Family Stadium
TV: FOX Sports 1
Live Stream: FOX Sports Go

Keys to Victory

For Hill and the Horned Frogs, the big key will be protecting the ball. Kansas State has the 11th-best turnover margin in college football and Hill is prone to throw interceptions. As long as he can make smart decisions like he has been through five games, the Horned Frogs will be in good shape. Also, keeping that rushing attack going against Kansas State’s 43rd-ranked run defense will be important. Darius Anderson will need to remain hot in the backfield.

Kansas State, on the other hand, will need Ertz to be his old self — effective with his legs and steady with his arm. If the Wildcats want to pull off the upset, he needs to make sure he can run the ball effectively against TCU’s 16th-ranked run defense. It’s not going to be an easy task for the nation’s 32nd-ranked rushing offense. The run will be important for both sides.

Prediction

This game will be a major scare for TCU. The Horned Frogs know Kansas State isn’t a pushover, but that won’t stop them from taking the Wildcats lightly. Ertz may be coming off a rough game and he’s fighting for his job, but he will have a huge game against the Horned Frogs at home, bringing this one down to the wire. Hill will throw two interceptions, but ultimately it will be TCU’s defense that clamps down for the win in the final minutes.

Final Score: TCU 31, Kansas State 24
