2. Texas’ tall-order receiving corps

After mentioning the impact Ehlinger could have on a potential upset, it would be remiss not to include the freshman’s favorite targets on the outside.

Collin Johnson is putting together a stellar year for Texas. The 6-foot-6 receiver has hauled in 25 passes for 485 yards and presents a nightmare of a match-up for the smaller Sooner’s defensive backs.

In fact, six of the nine Longhorns’ receivers stand 6-foot-3 or taller. Look for Texas to make hay through the air, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Texas bust several big plays with its receivers on the  outside.

If Iowa State’s Kyle Kempt can chuck the pigskin around for 343 yards, Ehlinger and his receiving corps could (should) be in for a huge day. If the Longhorns’ offensive line can give Ehlinger the protection he needs, look for another 300-yard game out of the freshman and his receivers.
