For the first time since 1962, Texas A&M football heads to the Swamp to take on the Gators. Here is my bold take on the match up.
Florida has struggled this season to say the least. The team has been up and down with issues on every side of the ball. They have been back and forth between quarterbacks- junior Luke Del Rio and redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks. Now that a season ending injury has taken Del Rio off the field, it is Franks job to carry this team to the offense.
Even though Florida leads the league in both red zone offense and defense, they still seem to be struggling to get the ball there. No matter the strengths of this Florida team and the hostile environment of the Swamp, Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin thinks the Aggies are ready.
Texas A&M is coming off an eight point loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, scoring the most an SEC team has all year against them. It was a shockingly close loss as the Aggies defense stood firm for the most part against a surging Tide. They forced the first Alabama turnover in what feels like forever. They brought Jalen Hurts down and pressured him like a veteran group would. It was very promising to watch for Aggie fans, that is for sure.
However, now they head to the Swamp. This will be the first time the Aggies have left the Lone Star State since their embarrassing loss to UCLA in Week 1. They will look to redeem that one, just on an opposite coast.
