UCLA Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Arizona in Week 7
By Dana Becker
2. Is this Khalil Tate’s team now?
Sophomore Khalil Tate has the keys to the Ferrari and he’s looking to take it out on the highway once more.
Tate finally took over last week and delivered, going 12-of-13 passing for 154 yards with a touchdown. What was even more impressive, though, was what he did with his legs.
The 6-foot-2 Inglewood, Calif., native ran for a record 327 yards by a quarterback on just 14 carries, scoring four times. That included a 75-yard run, as Tate averaged — averaged — 23.4 yards per carry.
Colorado had absolutely no answer for Tate, and if you remember back to the opening week of the season, UCLA struggled mightily vs. the Texas A&M run game.
There are currently 130 FBS teams and the Bruins rank No. 125 out of all of them in rushing yards allow, surrendering 284 per game with an average of 6.3 yards per carry and 12 touchdowns allowed.
If Tate can come anywhere close to his total offensive numbers, he’ll have the Wildcats right in the thick of this one.
