Washington State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Cal in Week 7
After going undefeated through the first half of the season, could Cal deliver Washington State football its first loss of the 2017 season?
Washington State football has been one of the nation’s most pleasant surprises.
After starting the season ranked 24th in the nation by the AP, Mike Leach’s squad has steadily risen up the power rankings thanks to a series of quality wins.
Ever since the team pulled off their impressive overtime victory over the Boise State Broncos, a game in which starting quarterback Luke Falk finished the game on the sideline due to an apparent head injury sustained in the second half, the Cougars have been on an absolute tear in the Pac-12 North.
A run that culminated in a Week 5 victory over Pac-12 South favorites the USC Trojans.
Even as heavy underdogs, the Cougars pulled off a stunner in front of their home crowd, and proved that the Pac-12 North runs through Pullman, Wash.
And after subsequently defeating the Oregon Ducks with relative ease in Week 6, the Cougars must now turn their eyes to Berkeley, Calif., and the Cal Golden Bears.
After playing average, at best, football over the last few seasons, Cal has fallen off the map after the graduation of graduate transfer quarterback Davis Webb, and currently sit in the middle of the pack with a 3-3 record.
Even though this should be a blowout win for the Cougars, on any given Saturday, or Friday in this case, anything can happen in college football.
Here are three bold predictions for Washington State’s Week 7 game against the Cal Golden Bears.
