Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney isn’t afraid to display his emotions and he delivered a memorable moment following the Tigers’ loss to Syracuse.

From his “Bring Your Own Guts” speech to coming to the defense of Deshaun Watson when NFL scouts started tearing him down, Swinney is definitely a players-coach in all the right ways.

Friday night, following Clemson’s stunning upset loss to Syracuse on the road inside the Carrier Dome, Swinney showed that once again.

After he talked with his own team, Swinney entered the Orange locker room and congratulated the team that just ended Clemson’s 11-game win streak and put a serious wrench in plans to repeat as national champions.

When Swinney took over on an interim basis for the fired Tommy Bowden, not many probably believed he would ever gain complete control of the program. The fact that he not only earned the trust of the Clemson brass, but actually delivered the second national championship in school history, shows the exact kind of person he is.

Swinney was a walk-on wide receiver who earned a spot at Alabama. Years later, he topped those same Crimson Tide to become a national champion coach with a record of 95-29.

Last year, Swinney’s Tigers posted a 54-0 victory over the Orange in Death Valley. Clemson lost starting quarterback Kelly Bryant to a possible concussion in the first half and ran for just 113 yards in the game.
