College GameDay went north to visit their first FCS game of the season at James Madison. Who is the Week 7 guest picker?

The midpoint of the college football season is here and College Gameday has already had a good mix of interesting venues and experiences. They’ve gone to neutral sites (Week 1 – Alabama vs. Florida State), New York City (Week 4) and now they can check off their FCS game of the season.

Defending FCS Champion James Madison hosts Villanova in Week 7. There were plenty of options for a guest picker to join the weekly staff of Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso. Following last week’s guest, Tim McGraw, the College GameDay Week 7 guest picker is James Madison, himself, kind of.

The 2017 College GameDay guest pickers have come from every range of the entertainment spectrum. Sam Hunt, the Week 1 guest, set the pace with nine correct picks. After he visited the show on opening weekend guest pickers have included Eddie George (Week 2), Rick Pitino (Week 3), Keegan-Michael Key (Week 4), Bruce Smith (Week 5) and Tim McGraw (Week 6).

The Week 7 slate looked somewhat mediocre at the onset, but Friday night could be an indication that making picks this weekend could still be difficult. There were no games between top 25 teams this week, but that didn’t stop Syracuse from upsetting No. 2 Clemson and Cal from upsetting No. 8 Washington State.

Saturday’s games feature some interesting pairings headlined by the Red River Rivalry game between Texas and No. 12 Oklahoma. Also among the games that might be picked today are Georgia Tech at No. 11 Miami, No. 24 Texas Tech at West Virginia and No. 6 TCU at Kansas State. Somebody else is going to go down, the question is, who will that be? And will the crew get it right?
