Louisville football entered their game against Boston College with ACC Championship hopes alive. What did we learn in the Cardinals’ Week 7 tilt?

Boston College 3-4 (1-3 ACC) didn’t look like they would stand much of a chance against anyone in the ACC, let alone the Louisville Cardinals. Louisville 4-3 (1-3 ACC) was a 19 point favorite on Saturday, but despite those things these two squads found themselves in a close game on Saturday.

It was abundantly clear the Lamar Jackson show needs some co-stars. After falling to NC State the Cardinals once again failed to give their stud quarterback much help of any kind. The defense allowed Boston College to move the ball somewhat effectively, at least in the second half, and the offense never really clicked outside of Jackson.

Unexpectedly, Louisville spent most of the second half playing catch up to the Boston College offense. Despite being sporadic and ineffective for much of the season, the Eagles started to take flight against a Cardinal defense that has struggled. Even with a heroic performance by Jackson, this one ended in another shocking ACC upset as the Eagles kicked a late second field goal to win 45-42.

Here are three things we learned from the Cardinals close win over the Eagles in Week 7.
