On a day dotted with weather delays, No. 6 TCU football pulled away at Kansas State to stay unbeaten. Here are three takeaways from the Horned Frogs win.

The Big 12 showdown between No. 6 TCU and Kansas State was delayed for three hours on Saturday afternoon as lightning rolled through Manhattan. Once things finally kicked off at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, the Horned Frogs buckled down and thwarted any Wildcats dreams of a big conference upset.

Then another weather delay postponed play in the fourth quarter. The game resumed, the Horned Frogs scored again, and the visitors will return to Fort Worth with a 26-6 victory. As a result, TCU remains the only team in the Big 12 that still sports a perfect record. Thanks to Oklahoma’s big win over Texas in the Red River Shootout, the Horned Frogs are also the only team in the league without a loss in conference play.

On a weekend filled with upsets, Gary Patterson‘s team left nothing to chance once they finally got to take the field. TCU will take advantage of the chaos around them to move up into the top five of the next AP Top 25 after their emphatic victory on the road.

At this point, TCU looks like a legitimate College Football Playoff contender. What else did we learn from the victory against Kansas State? Here are three takeaways from the Horned Frogs’ sixth win of the season.
