UCLA Football: 3 takeaways from loss to Arizona in Week 7
1. Jim Mora’s time is running out at UCLA
After an emotional high to start the season, coming back from 34 points down to beat Texas A&M at home, Jim Mora’s team didn’t quite respond in the way he had hoped. In fact, his Bruins went out the next week and beat Hawaii soundly, but faltered against Memphis on the road the following contest.
It was an ugly defensive showing for the Bruins and it seemed as if they weren’t prepared at all for the matchup against the Tigers. In a rough environment against a team that was charged up to try and knock off a Power Five opponent, Mora was given a pass.
The Bruins then went out in the next contest and were dismantled 58-34 by Stanford. It was a “maybe this team is too young and inexperienced” pass again for Mora. However, a loss to on the road against a beatable Arizona team might just be the straw that broke the coach’s back.
