USC Football rallied from a 21-7 deficit to edge Utah on the road by one point. It wasn’t all pretty, but it was an impressive performance by the Trojans.

The Trojans pulled off a come-from-behind win on the road in an extremely hostile environment. What did we learn from what was a memorable Trojan road win over Utah late Saturday night?

There’s been a lot of hubbub lately about the late starts on the West Coast. While it is true that many folks on the Atlantic Coast don’t get to watch a ton of Pac-12 football that doesn’t make the late games a bad thing. The Pac-12 has built a brand on late night theatrics and the USC win over Utah lived up to the expectations.

You had all the components of an incredible football game. There was the favorite falling behind, being forced to make a fourth quarter rally. Sam Darnold had a few major moments that will be remembered later in the season when awards get discussed. The home team responded with a last-minute drive to score a potential game-tying touchdown before rolling the dice and going for two.

All this on the night after a Top-10 team, Washington State, was stunned in a blowout loss to Cal. There are some cons when it comes to playing these late games, but that hasn’t watered down the quality whatsoever.
