The good old days are long gone

It may actually come as a surprise to many that Nebraska has had six nine-win or 10-win seasons since 2010 because the idea that they are a second-rated football program has been cast to the nation.

Maybe it’s just because the past Huskers remember the real glory days that included three unbeaten campaigns between 1994-1997 and six bowl victories from 1994-2000.

Nebraska is just 2-5 over its last seven bowls, with the two wins coming in the Gator Bowl in 2013 and the Foster Farms Bowl two years ago. Not quite the same as winning Orange and Fiesta Bowls like in the 90s.

From 1962 through 2003, the Huskers had zero final records under .500. Since that time, they have had three and are currently under that mark right now with several stiff tests ahead.

Overall, Nebraska football has gone 892-376-40, including 26 bowl victories. The 892 wins are third-most all-time behind only Michigan and Texas. They have 46 conference titles, five claimed national championships and another nine unclaimed titles since starting the program in 1890.
