There was a shakeup in the College Football Playoff field as a few top teams fell. Check out this week’s projected top four playoff teams after Week 7.

The College Football Playoff field has some new blood after four teams in the Top 10 fell in Week 7. The scenarios will continue to swirl as two teams from the SEC and two teams from the Big Ten are in the top five of this week’s AP Poll.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are still number one but the Georgia Bulldogs loom behind them at the No. 3 spot. The Penn State Nittany Lions also have some company as the new No. 2 team in the AP Poll. The Wisconsin Badgers round out the top five as the fifth-ranked team in this week’s AP Poll but is it enough to put two teams from the same conference in the College Football Playoff field?

Short answer: no. There is a huge likelihood that both pairs of teams could end up facing each other in their respective conference championship games, making it a lot easier for the College Football Playoff committee in the long run.

Now, all there’s left to do is to pick a favorite and run with it. Let’s take a look at this week’s projections.
