3. TCU Horned Frogs

The TCU Horned Frogs have become the new favorite in the Big 12 to make the College Football Playoff. With so much shuffling in the Pac-12, the Big 12 looks like the conference that will get a playoff berth in the final field of four.

The Washington Huskies fell to Arizona State in Week 7 while the Horned Frogs remain undefeated at 6-0. TCU currently sits in first in the Big 12 standings at 3-0 ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners, with a game looming against the Sooners looms on Nov. 11.

The Horned Frogs have already defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys and West Virginia Mountaineers, two of the other ranked teams in the conference. They’ll need to defeat Oklahoma to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive and it’s quite possible.

Their defense is playing solid across six weeks. They’ve allowed just 17.3 points, 98.3 rushing yards and 238.0 passing yards per game this season and continue to get better against each conference foe. We’ll see if they can stay perfect the rest of the way as they have emerged as a playoff contender.
