Louisville Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Florida State
By Dana Becker
Louisville football and reigning Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson hit the road for a crucial ACC date with Florida State this Saturday.
Riding a two-game losing skid and looking up at the rest of the Atlantic division, this could be considered a make-or-break game for the Cards. Louisville is just 1-3 in the ACC and has been outscored 166-135 despite returning Jackson. Injuries have kept the offense from operating at full capacity this year.
The Seminoles, currently 2-2 in the league and in fourth place all by themselves, know a thing or two about injuries. Star quarterback Deondre Francois went down late in the opener vs. Alabama and weather-related issues have limited Florida State and head coach Jimbo Fisher to just five games played this year. But FSU gained some momentum last week with a 17-10 triumph over Duke and now, they are looking to make up for lost time.
Last year, Jackson and the Cardinals put a hurting on Florida State, scoring 14 points in three different quarters and 21 in the second to win 63-20 at home. They led 35-10 at the half, as Jackson racked up over 350 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns. Both teams were ranked in the Top-10 at that point, a far cry from this matchup.
Despite being under .500 on the year at 2-3, the Seminoles are favored over 4-3 Louisville. Here are three bold predictions for Saturday’s ACC battle between Louisville and Florida State:
