Louisville Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Florida State
By Dana Becker
Mr. Heisman will show up
If there is one thing Lamar Jackson likes to do, it is put on a show. Jackson appeared to have regrouped following a 47-21 home loss to Clemson in Week 3, trouncing Kent State and Murray State. A return to ACC play, though, has resulted in back-to-back defeats at the hands of NC State and Boston College. That, though, isn’t entirely Jackson’s fault.
While many believe him to be a far cry from his Heisman winning season of a year ago, that could not be further from the truth.
The junior is completing 60 percent of his passes for 2,322 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. On the ground, Jackson has carried the ball a mind-blowing 113 times for 690 yards and scored 10 times. He’s averaging 430 yards of total offense per game and almost four touchdowns.
Last year, Jackson was 13 of 20 passing for 216 yards and a touchdown, but hurt the Seminoles with his legs, gaining 146 yards and scoring four times on the ground.
Florida State is ranked 23th in the nation in total defense, but they have yet to see a dynamic offensive player like Jackson through five games. Expect Louisville to let him roam free and be the playmaker we remember.
