Keys to Victory
This isn’t the Houston of the past two years as Greg Ward Jr. and others are gone. Head coach Tom Herman has also departed yet the Cougars still have talent but as of now, Houston isn’t a team to watch in the AAC.
Memphis has the connection of Riley Ferguson and Anthony Miller, these are some of the most dynamic players in college football. Honestly, Memphis just needs to get Miller the ball and everything will be alright — he shows up in every big game.
The Memphis defense is opportunistic, but they can’t stop a nose bleed so it could be what the doctor ordered for Houston.
Houston only scored 17 points against Tulsa, but they will be at home and looking at the Memphis defense all night they should be able to put up more than 17 points on Thursday. Houston, make sure you feed running back Duke Catalon, he currently has 431 yards on 90 carries and four touchdowns. He is the guy that can help control the game against this high-powered Memphis team and wear that defense down.

Prediction
Even with home-field advantage and coming back on a short week I’m rolling with Memphis 42-28, too much Ferguson and Miller, Houston won’t have any answers for that duo, they are the heart of the Memphis team. If the heart is pumping, you are still alive and the road team will be alive on Thursday.
Final Score: Houston 28, Memphis 42
