Baylor football is 0-6 and desperately needs something positive to happen this season. Can the Bears pull of the upset and finally notch their first win?

Baylor will welcome No. 23 West Virginia to the friendly confines of McLane Stadium Saturday for a Week 8 matchup. Baylor has the opportunity to pull an upset of a Top 25 team. While the odds are not in the Bears’ favor, anything can happen on Saturday. If Baylor did win, it would be one of biggest upsets in the Big 12 this year.

Baylor has continued to show improvement, losing by only eight points to Oklahoma and 13 points to Kansas State. But Oklahoma State completely destroyed the Baylor secondary. Baylor must show that it is a team that can get beat down and get back up stronger.

West Virginia, on the other hand, is flying high following their comeback win over Texas Tech. The Red Raiders led the Mountaineers 35-17 at the half and West Virginia stormed back winning 46-35. West Virginia’s defense held Nic Shimonek to only 71 yards in second half.

The history is short between these two teams but there have still been some memorable games. West Virginia leads the series 3-2 and won last years matchup by only three points. That Baylor team was also going through a losing streak in the midst of losing its last six games of the year.

This would be a huge win for Baylor and give the Bears a chance to even the series with the Mountaineers at three games apiece. The home team has won each game in this series which bodes well for Baylor.

Now lets take a look at the five reasons the Baylor Bears will beat the West Virginia Mountaineers in Week 8.
