I have called the Huskies overrated since the preseason. Their defense has been stingy for two seasons. It is their offense that lets them down against good defenses. Coach Chris Peterson is going to need some major development out of his quarterback Jake Browning in big games if the Huskies hope to make their was to the top of the Pac-12.

Huge rivalry game this week for the Trojans. Notre Dame is starting to get credit as a good football team. This game will have a huge impact on the College Football Playoff. The committee would love to get Notre Dame in the top four. If USC loses, it could mean the Pac-12 gets left out of the playoff. Sam Darnold will need to do a better job of taking care of the football.

The air raid offense got grounded against Cal. It was surprising to see the number one team in the Pac-12 get destroyed 37-3. However, that is the craziness of the 2017 season. Luke Falk should rebound in with a good passing performance when he’s back home in Pullman. Washington State still has a chance at the College Football Playoff.

From the outhouse to the penthouse. Just few weeks ago Stanford lost to San Diego State and was left for dead in the Pac-12. No one thought they could come back to regain the top spot in the Pac-12 power rankings. Winning games has gotten easier since the Cardinal defense has started to step up and give their dynamic running attack some help. As long as Bryce Love is running the ball like a Heisman Trophy finalist, Stanford will remain in the No. 1 spot.

Check back in next week to see if the Trojans or Washington State can take that No. 1 spot.
