A red-hot TCU football team hosts Kansas in what looks to be a mismatch from the opening kick. Here’s everything you need to know about the matchup.

TCU continues to find new and innovative ways to chalk up wins. The No. 4 Horned Frogs used a stout defensive effort to upend Kansas State 26-6 in Manhattan last Saturday. Quarterback Kenny Hill leads a potent offense, having thrown for 1,450 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.

The Horned Frogs gained a ton of confidence from their 44-31 win over Oklahoma State two weeks ago. This is a team that is clicking on all cylinders, and has its eyes set on a Nov. 11 game against Oklahoma in Norman. However, Texas may have something to say about that as the Longhorns travel to Fort Worth a week earlier on Nov. 4. The Horned Frogs average 50.0 points per game at home this year.

Kansas enters having lost 46-straight games away from Lawrence. Chances of a win Saturday appear slim-to-none, as the Jayhawks were embarrassed badly in a 45-0 loss at Iowa State last week. Kansas coach David Beaty lamented his team’s horrid special teams play. However, the Jayhawks’ offense was a putrid 2-for-17 on third down and punted 13 times against the Cyclones.

Here’s how to watch Saturday’s Kansas at TCU game:

Date: Saturday, Oct. 20
Time: 8:00 p.m ET
Location: Forth Worth, TX
Venue: Amon G. Carter Stadium
TV: Fox
Live Stream: Fox Sports Go

Keys to Victory

If Hill continues to play at a high level, TCU will continue to see good results. He’s completing 70.6 percent of his 3rd down passes, leading to lots of sustained Horned Frogs’ drives. I don’t expect Kansas to generate much of a pass rush, and defensive coordinator Clint Bowen is on a short leash. TCU should have its way offensively and light up the scoreboard.

After getting blanked in Ames, things only get worse for the Kansas offense. The Jayhawks face a TCU defense leading the Big 12 in scoring defense (17.3 points per game), total defense (336.3 yards per game) and rushing defense (98.3 yards per game). Quarterback Peyton Bender has thrown for eight touchdowns on the year. Yards and points will be tough to come by for Kansas. As long as the Horned Frogs don’t fall asleep at the wheel, the chance of a Jayhawks’ upset is extremely remote.

Prediction

For a prime time kickoff on FOX, it seems as if the networks could have chosen wiser. The Horned Frogs will be able to name the score. Hill will pick apart a suspect Jayhawks’ secondary and running back Darius Anderson should find plenty of holes to run through. Kansas has lost five in a row and has given up 42 or more points in those games. TCU coach Gary Patterson has never lost to Kansas, winning all five games he’s coached against them. His record will move to 6-0 come Saturday night.

Final Score: TCU 52, Kansas 17
