Texas Football: 5 reasons Longhorns will lose to Oklahoma State in Week 8
3. Oklahoma State wins the turnover battle
A huge x-factor for either squad in this contest is going to be winning the turnover battle. Texas managed to not turn the ball over even once against the Sooners. That kept them in the game against a talent OU offense.
Yet, this Oklahoma State defense is waiting for the opportunity to show the college football world what they can do. The Pokes held Baylor to less points than both Oklahoma and Kansas State did. Momentum seems to be heading in the right direction.
Stopping freshman Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is a different task than stopping Baylor’s Zach Smith. Ehlinger has that “it” factor that seems to help him always keep the Horns in games and always give them a chance to win.
The Texas secondary has been an interception machine this season. DeShon Elliott already has five picks on the season. Keep the ball away from Elliott and fellow defensive back Kris Boyd, and Oklahoma State should be good to go.
