Mike Leach will have to get Washington State football to bounce back after the upset loss to Cal. Here are my three bold predictions for the Cougs versus the Buffs.

The Cougars are 6-1 and sitting at 22nd in the S&P+ rankings from Bill C. Mike Leach had tough talk for his Cougs after the blowout to Cal just a week after upsetting the USC Trojans. The Colorado Buffalos are 4-3 and sitting at 68th in the S&P+. The Buffaloes have lost to every team with a pulse on their schedule so far.

Luke Falk struggled mightily against the Bears last weekend, throwing five interceptions after only having thrown two all year before Saturday night.

The Cougs and Falk seem to bounce back strong like they did after struggling against the Boise State Broncos, they throttled the Oregon State Beavers. Falk has thrown for 2,286 and 19 touchdowns with seven interceptions on the season — 7.5 yards per attempt passing for Falk is pretty low as you’re looking to get 8.5 or so per attempt.

Steven Montez has thrown for 1,691 yards and 12 touchdowns with six interceptions for Colorado. Montez isn’t the same quality of runner that Sefo Liufau was in 2016. Montez, however, has stayed healthier than Liufau who consistently missed time over his career. Phillip Lindsay has ran for 995 yards and 10 touchdowns over the seven games in 2017.

Colorado will look to run the ball, play defense and win a close low scoring game while Wazzu will look to throw the football and play strong defense under Alex Grinch. Here are my three bold predictions for the matchup.
