As the Big Ten West’s lone undefeated team, Wisconsin will need to defeat a hot-and-cold Maryland team to remain in contention. Here are 3 bold predictions.

Week 7 went really well for the Wisconsin Badgers.

After defeating Purdue in a relatively low scoring affair, Wisconsin saw four of their AP Poll top-10 compatriots fall in a virtually unprecedented affair, catapulting the Badgers up the power rankings a full two spots, from number seven to number five. And things are only getting better in Madison.

With a place in the Big Ten Championship game now all but guaranteed for Paul Chryst‘s Badgers’ squad, Wisconsin is sneakily becoming a dark horse candidate for the College Football Playoff. They could very well be the Big Ten’s most complete team.

With the recent emergence of freshman tail back Jonathan Allen helping to super-charger the Badgers’ pro style offense alongside sophomore quarterback Alex Hornibrook and senior tight end Troy Fumagalli, Wisconsin now has a top-30 ranked offense to pair with their always impressive 6th ranked defense, They posses the unique ability to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. A truly impressive feat.

But, before Wisconsin can plan their trip to Indianapolis for the conference championship game, they must first take on Big Ten East newcomers, Maryland. The Terps looked like a real contender over the first two weeks of the season, but after a string of freak injuries, and the loss of the team’s two top quarterbacks, the Terps have struggled to find consistency over the last month of the season.

Having lost three of their last four games, including a 62-14 beat down by the Ohio State Buckeyes, by a combined score of 161-76, D.J. Durkin‘s squad is treading water, essentially biding their time, patiently waiting for the more promising 2018 season to begin.

But on any given Saturday, anything could happen. Here are three bold predictions for the Wisconsin Badgers Week 8 game against the Maryland Terrapins.
