4. Barry Odom

Another newcomer on the hot seat list for this week, Barry Odom out of the University of Missouri. Two seasons into the retirement of the legendary head coach Gary Pinkel, the Missouri football team has gone off the deep end. After finishing in the AP top 10 and winning a bowl each year in 2013 and 2014, Missouri now sits at 1-5 on the 2017 season.

With two top-50 recruiting classes in the last two seasons and a top-25 recruiting class in 2015, Missouri has nothing to show for it. Pinkel turned around the program and built a foundation for success that Odom hasn’t figured out.

Now we can’t forget about the race issues that went on at the University of Missouri. That entire situation clearly impacted Missouri football in the worst way when it comes to recruiting.

With that being said, the lack of effort in late games is inexcusable. The 2-10 record Odom has posted in the SEC is downright ugly. All of this is coming after a ten year stretch where Missouri won 10-plus games of those ten years. Pinkle built up a more than respectable program, and Odom has torn it down.

Either Barry Odom and the Tigers need to make a statement before the year is over, or there may be another new head coach in Columbia.
