Louisville Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Florida State in Week 8
By Jesse Smith
Louisville football will travel to Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon to face Florida State and here’s what could go down.
Florida State and Louisville will face each other on Saturday in an ACC battle. This game won’t have the same steam as expected before the season started, but it will be an interesting battle for two teams trying to claw their way to bowl eligibility.
Here are three bold predictions for Saturday’s game.
3. Win or lose, Lamar Jackson will still be a one-man band
So far the Louisville Cardinals are 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the ACC, but isn’t because of a Heisman hangover by Lamar Jackson. In fact, he is putting up similar, if not better, numbers this year than during his Heisman campaign, but the wins aren’t racking up in the same rate last season for his squad.
I will be the first to say, I did say October was going to be a rough month for Louisville, but I didn’t expect Boston College to beat them at home last week.
This team has some talent, especially on offense, but what is lacking is the defensive unit. Now that unit has a few players that will play on Sundays, but as a group they aren’t getting it done and now it seems like this year is going to go down as a team that underachieved or. better yet, a team that only had Jackson.
The sad thing for Jackson is that he’s so good, he at least keeps his team in the game with his legs, but because of the other side of the ball, he can’t afford to make a mistake whether it be an errant pass, fumble or interception because the defense can’t stop a running nose with two hands full of Kleenex.
They have a tough game against Florida State and, win or lose, Jackson is all alone.
