Brandon Wimbush has led Notre Dame football to arguably its best start since 2012, but has he established himself as a better option than his predecessor DeShone Kizer?

The quarterback position is one of absolutes. As a signal caller you are either a hero or a sacrificial lamb. There is little to no in between, a sentiment that holds true in the careers of both Brandon Wimbush and DeShone Kizer, albeit in opposite ways.

While Wimbush has enjoyed a solid supporting cast, Kizer’s team fell victim to an internal meltdown courtesy of a lost coaching staff. In turn, Wimbush has been praised as Notre Dame’s latest savior while Kizer was left out to dry in the NFL draft.

Wimbush doesn’t deserve all of the praise, just as Kizer didn’t deserve all of the blame. However, there is something to be said about a team that does a complete 180 in the midst of a significant quarterback change. In this case, there is much more than meets the eye in terms of Wimbush’s importance to this team.
