Reason 2: Rebel offense is firing on all cylinders

Shea Patterson and the passing offense has been dangerous, more or less all season. But the emergence of the running game makes the offense even more dangerous. Jordan Wilkins broke out as the only bright spot for the team in the Alabama game. Wilkins rushed for 101 yards against the Tide. Wilkins then provided some big plays against Auburn. Against Vanderbilt, Wilkins shined and truly gave the offense another dimension. Wilkins rushed for 113 yards, with a 6.3 average yards per carry. If the run game can continue that level of excellence, then it will be hard for LSU to slow this offense.

The run game is just one added dimension that the Tigers have to deal with. Ole Miss also has their passing game humming again as well. The offensive line is dominating. Patterson seems to be maturing before our very eyes, and then receivers are just all around excellent. LSU’s defense can not afford a “Mississippi State” effort in this game. What I mean by that is that it cannot play like it did in that game against the Bulldogs earlier in the year. if they do, then they’ll be continuously shredded all night long by the Rebels.
