Pac-12 Football 2017: 3 teams on upset alert in Week 8
By Zach Bigalke
With Pac-12 football play in full bloom this week, let’s look at the three favorites that will be on highest upset alert heading into Week 8 matchups.
At this point of the 2017 college football season, the midway point has passed for every Pac-12 team. Conference play is in full swing, which means that for the past few weeks we have effectively looked at every Pac-12 game in our weekly look at upset alerts for league favorites.
This week, we focus on the three biggest upset threats of the week. With USC on the road at Notre Dame, that toss-up game in South Bend will hardly be an upset if the Trojans win. Meanwhile, Washington has to wait through its bye week for a chance to recover from its first loss of the year.
That leaves four games that feature Pac-12 conference showdowns. The biggest favorite is Washington State, who gives away 10 points to visiting Colorado. But that is the #Pac12AfterDark feature, and at this point it would hardly be a surprise to see things go awry in late-night action on Saturday.
So who is on upset alert this week in the Pac-12? Three of the four favorites are playing at home. Keep reading to see the three biggest upset alert candidates of the week. (All point spreads and total score lines are provided by Sportsbook Review.)
