Oklahoma Football: 3 takeaways from victory vs. Kansas State
By Dana Becker
Oklahoma football showed heart and character Saturday, scoring 32 points to over come a deficit and defeat Kansas State on the road, 42-35.
With the game tied at 35-all and under 10 seconds to go, Rodney Anderson darted to the end zone from 22 yards out, providing the game-winning points to cap a crazy fourth quarter that featured 35 points by both teams.
The loss was a crushing one for the Wildcats, as they appeared in control up 21-7 late in the second quarter. The Sooners, though, slowly worked their way back into it behind Heisman candidate Baker Mayfield and company.
After that 38-31 loss to Iowa State earlier this month, Oklahoma has rebounded with a 29-24 win vs. rival Texas and now this comeback thriller in Manhattan. The Sooners host Texas Tech next before a showdown with Oklahoma State in Stillwater on November 4.
Kansas State, meanwhile, has lost three in a row and four of five around a victory vs. Baylor. During that span, the Wildcats were topped in double-overtime by Texas, lost by a touchdown to Vanderbilt and now this defeat at the hands of the Sooners.
Here’s three takeaways from Oklahoma-Kansas State on Saturday.
