3. Baker Mayfield is looking like a Heisman finalist

It wasn’t always pretty, but Baker Mayfield continues to light up the scoreboard for Oklahoma.

Mayfield overcame a slow start Saturday, finishing 32-of-41 for 410 yards with two touchdowns. He also added 69 yards on the ground and two more scores, keeping his standing in the race to attend the Heisman ceremony in December firmly entrenched.

It’s incredible to see, but Mayfield is completing passes at almost 73 percent, up from his completion percentage of a year ago. He’s thrown for at least 300 yards in all but one game, with this being his best performance yet.

Mayfield also has at least two passing touchdowns in all seven games for the Sooners. Has has thrown just two interceptions, with both of them coming in the last two games.

He might not be the most politically correct quarterback in college football today, but there is definitely no denying the talent and excitement value that the senior from Austin brings to the football field.
