The Rebels entered their Week 8 game against LSU off their first SEC win of the season. Ole Miss defeated Vanderbilt handily at home 57-35. LSU would be a much tougher test.
The Tigers might have been the hottest team in the SEC not named Alabama or Georgia. After losing their conference opener to Mississippi State, they bounced back with back to back conference wins over Florida and Auburn. Following a slow start the Tigers have found ways to win.
LSU and Ole Miss traded field goals in both the first and the second quarters. A Derrius Guice touchdown run represented the seven point halftime separator. After trading field goals again in the third quarter the Tiger offense starter to pull away.
