Well, if there was any doubt Penn State football is for real, the Nittany Lions erased that on Saturday with a drubbing of Michigan, 42-13.

Saquon Barkley again put on a performance in prime-time, rushing for 108 yards and two touchdowns, adding another 53 yards and a score through the air.

Barkley, though, wasn’t the only member of the Penn State offense to feast on a Wolverine defense that was thoroughly exposed.

Trace McSorley threw for 282 yards and ran for 76, accounting for four touchdowns. DaeSean Hamilton hauled in six passes for 115 yards as McSorley connected with seven different targets in the win.

This one was over before it really got started, as Barkley darted 69 yards less than a minute into the game for a score, adding his second touchdown with 10 minutes to go in the first quarter.

Jim Harbaugh and Michigan would post a pair of rushing touchdowns in the second quarter, but it was all Penn State after that, as the Nittany Lions scored 28 unanswered.

Penn State had double the offensive yardage of Michigan and over 20 first downs on the night, keeping hope alive for an unbeaten season for James Franklin.

Here’s three takeaways from the game:
