Washington State football and starting quarterback Luke Falk bounced back with a comfortable home win against Colorado Saturday.
The conditions on Saturday night in Pullman were less than ideal, but that didn’t stop Mike Leach and Washington State football from pulling out a gritty win over Colorado. Just a week removed from a blowout loss against Cal, the Cougars looked like a completely different team against the Buffaloes.
The most important aspect of the win was the play of Luke Falk. After throwing a career-high five interceptions in the loss to Cal, he protected the ball in inclement weather and threw three touchdown passes.
While Falk’s completion rate was just 50 percent on Saturday night, many of the incompletions were due to him slinging a slippery ball. The conditions were not ideal for an aerial attack, but he still gave his team the best chance to win, throwing for 197 yards. He also showcased tremendous awareness in the pocket with 41 yards on nine carries.
Luke Falk has added another record to his storied WSU career. He's now the top man in Pac-12 football history for total offense.

Washington State may have dropped to No. 15 after last week’s ugly loss at Cal, but the Cougars should be on the rise again as their star quarterback redeemed himself against Colorado in a 28-0 win.
It wasn’t pretty and Falk wasn’t playing his best, but the Cougars have to feel good coming back to shut out a Pac-12 opponent in a gritty Week 8 performance. That Washington State defense was strong once again, holding Colorado under 175 total yards.
