Not every SEC football team was in action in Week 8, but that hasn’t stopped the power rankings from having some movement.

The SEC was light in games this week, as five teams were on a bye. The best performance, and consequently biggest mover in this weeks rankings is LSU.

What many, including myself, thought would be a good game between the Tigers and Ole Miss, proved to be dominate showing of the talent of the Tigers. LSU won 40-24, and now look poised to take on Alabama as a true threat to win the SEC West.

Auburn was thought to be Alabama’s biggest test before the SEC Championship, but the resurgent Tigers could hold that title now. LSU’s offense is coming around and running back Derrius Guice is running hard again.

Elsewhere in the conference, Alabama throughly dominated Tennessee, as they should have. Mississippi State throttled Kentucky, as one of the bigger surprises of the week. Missouri picked up a much needed win over Idaho, and Auburn secured a big win over Arkansas.

That was it for the SEC, but Week 9 promises to make up for last week. Florida and Georgia will meet in a crucial game for the Bulldogs. Texas A&M plays host to Mississippi State in what could be one of the best games of the season.

Lets dive into the rankings beginning with our old friend, the Missouri Tigers.
