The Commodores got a much-needed bye week after suffering through four straight losses. Vanderbilt is back this week and will face the South Carolina Gamecocks.

It was the outcome that we all expected. Tennessee went into Tuscaloosa and was handed a beatdown by the Crimson Tide. There really isn’t much that you can say about the Volunteers in this game. They didn’t do anything. Granted, Alabama didn’t let them do anything. Their only score was an interception return, which will be more remembered for Rashaan Gaulden flipping the birds at some Alabama fans.

This game epitomizes just how far this program has fallen. Tennessee is not and won’t be the Tennessee of the 1990s for a very long time. Vols fans don’t want to hear that but its true and Alabama let them know it. At this point I’d expect to see Tennessee not make a bowl game and Butch Jones out a day or so after the final game of the season.
