College football’s Week 9 is loaded with tantalizing games and several ranked versus ranked matchups. What teams should be on the look out for an upset?

Back again for another weekly edition of upset picks. Week 9 provides some great games and if you don’t have a dog in the fight, watching this weekend will be fun. Now if you are a fan of one those teams in one of those ranked versus ranked games, it could be a stressful few hours.

Last week, I went two for five in my upset picks. My least confident pick of Arizona State over Utah turned out to be a 20 point win for the Sun Devils. Also Iowa State drubbed Texas Tech in Lubbock. Came close on the Miami and Michigan State picks, but close does not count.

This week, I have three games from the Big 12. The conference is beating each other up and it is hard to see at this point how they get a team in the college football playoff at the end if TCU does not go undefeated. Let’s get to the picks and as always, the odds are provided by SportsBook Review.

“That’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for them.” After needing a second half comeback to finish off Kansas State, Oklahoma comes back home to face Texas Tech. The Sooners are a 20-point favorite which makes this a bold pick.

As mentioned, Oklahoma struggled with Kansas State last week. The Sooners were down 21-10 before mounting a second half comeback and winning 42-35. Two weeks ago, the Sooners were in a dog fight with Texas before winning 29-24. Finally, no one has forgotten the Oklahoma’s loss to Iowa State.

Texas Tech has not shown signs of life in recent weeks. They have lost three of four games, with their only conference win being against Kansas. Like most Big 12 teams though, they can score. They rank fifth in the conference in scoring but are 15th in the nation in the same category. The conference does not care about defense and expect this one to be no different. Texas Tech is thinking if Iowa State can do it, why not us?
