2. Baker Mayfield improves his Heisman campaign

If you weren’t already aware, Baker Mayfield got his start at Texas Tech in 2013. However, many disagreements landed him in Norman where he has made quite a name for himself. Despite his defense blowing quite a few leads, he has found a way to lead his team back in all but one matchup this season: Iowa State.

For example, at half time the Sooners were down 28-10 at Kansas State. Below is the touchdown that put the Sooners up in the fourth quarter. Mayfield and his offense put up 22 points in the final quarter, allowing his team to leave victorious.

Mayfield owns a 74 percent completion rate and averages over 11.5 yards per pass. As it stands right now, he has thrown 19 touchdowns and I expect that number to continue to grow against Texas Tech on Saturday.

My bold prediction? Mayfield throws five touchdowns against the Red Raiders, at least. The Red Raider defense has struggled to contain big time playmakers and Baker definitely is one.
