Coming off of consecutive losses, Texas Tech is looking to bounce back against Oklahoma football on Saturday.

Texas Tech started the season off strong going 4-1 but they have lost the last two games to be 1-3 in conference play. Texas Tech gave up a commanding lead to lose the West Virginia game two weeks ago. Against Iowa State the Red Raiders were never really in the game. They are going to try and bounce back in Week 9 against Oklahoma.

The Red Raiders are trying to get their season back on track. If they don’t win this game, their season could go off the rails. With Kansas State, TCU and Texas still on schedule, a loss this week could doom their bowl eligibility. To make matter more difficult Texas Tech has to travel to Norman to face the Sooners.

Oklahoma is doing its best to bounce back following their loss to Iowa State. With wins over Texas and Kansas State, respectively. The Sooners need to avoid looking past Texas Tech and ahead to future opponents. After Texas Tech Oklahoma has to face off against Oklahoma State and TCU both top 15 teams.

This battle of Big 12 teams happens on Saturday and here is everything you need to know about the game.

Keys to Victory

Texas Tech is going have to fix whatever is wrong with their offense. The Red Raiders have historically been dynamic on offense with their brand of air-raid attack. But in consecutive weeks, they have been stifled offensively. West Virginia held them to only 71 yards in second half of their game. Against Iowa State they only managed to score 13 points.

Defensively, Texas Tech is going to have to get back to how they were playing early in the season. Recently it has reverted to bad habits and giving up big plays and points. To stop Oklahoma, they will have to take away the run game otherwise the Oklahoma running backs will have a field day.

Prediction

Oklahoma and Texas Tech will both score early and often. The first half will be a classic Big 12 shootout with both teams scoring in 30-range. Trey Sermon and Abdul Adams will run all over Red Raiders. Nic Shimonek will put up good numbers and make some big plays in first half to keep the game close.

Eventually Texas Tech will run out of steam. Baker Mayfield will put on a show to get back into Heisman conversation against his former team. In the end the superiority of Oklahoma will be too much for the Red Raiders and Oklahoma will put the game away in the fourth quarter.

Final Score: Oklahoma 66, Texas Tech 45
