Texas A&M Football saw their season ruined by Mississippi State a year ago. Here are three bold predictions for the Aggies and Bulldogs 2017 matchup.
Although Alabama has been a thorn in Kevin Sumlin‘s side since 2013, it wasn’t the Tide that sent the Aggies’ once hopeful 2016 season into the gutter. While Alabama did end the Aggies unbeaten streak a year ago it was Mississippi State the put away any hopes that Texas A&M could still make the College Football Playoff – the Aggies were the No. 4 team in the nation prior to their loss to the Bulldogs.
Barring absolute insanity, the College Football Playoff is not on the table for either of these teams. Kevin Sumlin is playing for his fourth SEC win of the season and further job security. A win against the Bulldogs would ensure the Aggies a .500 record in SEC play. Expectations are higher in College Station, but that’s a good start.
On the other sideline, Dan Mullen might well be auditioning for other jobs. The Bulldogs’ head man has long since been rumored to be eyeing opportunities outside of Starkville. If he does say, he’s playing with house money and upsetting the Aggies at home would be another feather in his cap.
