College GameDay is featuring the Penn State Nittany Lions in back-to-back weekends. Now that the show has gotten their more atypical destinations out of the way they can stick to the biggest games each week. The team has already done a neutral site game (Alabama vs. Florida State – Week 1), a non-college town (New York City – Week 4) and their annual FCS game in Week 7 (James Madison v. Villanova). Now it’s time for the main events.
A week removed from No. 2 Penn State against No. 19 Michigan it’s time for No. 2 Penn State to play No. 6 Ohio State. Just like they do (nearly) every weekend, a guest will join the set to make their picks alongside the College GameDay crew of Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Lee Corso. The Week 9 College GameDay guest picker is Jack Nicklaus.
Guest picker on @CollegeGameDay tomorrow: a true Buckeye legend. The great Jack Nicklaus joins us. Quite an honor for us!

Nicklaus is not the first athlete to join the set so far in 2017, but he is the first golfer. It’s been a while since a golfer was invited to make picks on College GameDay. The last one to do so was Rickie Fowler in November of 2015.
Nicklaus joins a long list of varied guests to this year’s show. Sports figures Eddie George and Bruce Smith were guests in Week 2 and Week 5 respectively. Former Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was the guest picker in Week 3, but that’s the extent of sports affiliated guests so far this season.
In the music and entertainment realm, Keegan-Michael Key (New York City – Week 4) was the guest in the Big Apple. Sam Hunt (Week 1) and Tim McGraw (Week 6) have also had their turns as guest pickers this season. Hunt still leads the pack with nine correct selections.
