4. Arkansas’ weakness at quarterback

Razorback football had some hope with senior quarterback Austin Allen but after he was injured a new face and new problems came with Cole Kelley. Is he a terrible quarterback? Not even close. I think eventually he will be great eventually, but as of yet, his inexperience shines brighter than his talent.

In their last game, which they lost 52-20 against Auburn, Kelley made his second start for the Razorbacks. The 6-foot-7, 268-pound beast finished the game 15 of 26 for 138 yards.

Although his numbers there look about normal for a guy in his second SEC start ever, it was another stat that really caught my attention. The Razorbacks gave up three fumbles to the Tigers and had four overall. Out of the four total, Kelley lost the ball three times and gave it to Auburn two times.

One day, I think Cole will do great for the Razorbacks. He has potential but he’s not ready to be the savior for Arkansas. Of course, as in any quarterback problems, I start by looking at their protection and this brings me to my next point.
