3. Bret Bielema’s job is safe for now

Bret Bielema might have been on the hottest seat of any coach in the nation entering this game. Leading Arkansas to two wins in the first half of the year will not get it done in Fayetteville. Yet, getting a big win over a rival like Ole Miss will get you some wiggle room.

The confidence displayed by Bielema in Cole Kelley will also help his case. Kelley looks like a great option for the Hogs moving forward. He just got thrown into the fire in his first few starts of the season against the Auburn Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide.

At this point, it’s unlikely that the Hogs part ways with Bielema any time soon. A big program like this could use the off-season to mull over the options for replacements. This win could also end up sparking a hot streak for Arkansas.

There’s not much more that Bielema could have done right now than just winning football games. He gave the Hogs some consistency in at least getting bowl eligible the past few years. Bowl eligibility is still a pipe dream for the Hogs.
