Georgia football worked hard to earn a blowout win over Florida on Saturday afternoon and here’s what we learned.

The talk lately in the SEC East has been about whether Georgia has overtaken Florida for the dominant team of the division. On Saturday, Georgia showed who runs the East and beat the Gators 42-7.

This game was all Georgia and head coach Kirby Smart. Never was there any real hope for the Gators on either side of the ball. The Bulldogs did whatever they wanted on offense and defensively, should have had a shutout.

In a bit of good news for Florida, at least it wasn’t a shutout. There isn’t much else to take away from this game to ease the mind of the Florida fans. Well, that is unless you are interested in a big change in talks. I’ll talk more about the three biggest takeaways from the beating Georgia handed Florida.

3. Georgia doesn’t have to pass the ball

The Bulldogs didn’t need to do anything fancy to win by 35 points over Florida. As a matter of fact, Georgia didn’t really have to do anything other than run the ball.

Jake Fromm, Georgia quarterback, threw the ball a whopping total of seven times during this game, completing four of those for 101 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

It was four quarters of the Bulldogs lining up and playing the football we all know Georgia likes to play. Nick Chubb may have gotten the bulk of the carries with 13, but Sony Michel had nearly all of the yardage at 137 yards to Chubb’s 77.

All that off of only six carries with a huge breakaway run for 74 yards that resulted in a touchdown. For Georgia fans, it feels like everything is on the right path and the ground game is something that could take them to a new level of success.
