Notre Dame football recorded its sixth straight win against No. 14 NC State, handling the Wolpack by a score of 35-14. Here are three takeaways from the Irish’s latest big win.

Notre Dame continued its dominate stretch against the Wolpack, racking up 423 total yards while limiting NC State to just over 250. The Irish avoided what many held as a trap game after last week’s dismantling of USC, dropping the Wolpack to 6-2 on the season.

The Irish were effective through the air, but it was once again a strong rushing attack that helped claim victory for Notre Dame. Notre Dame thrived on defense, manhandling one of the nation’s most efficient offenses.

It looked like this team might be trending in the wrong direction after a heartbreaking loss to Georgia a few weeks ago. Since then the Irish have just kept winning. Their schedule hasn’t eased up, but they’ve held serve and kept themselves alive in the hunt for a berth in the College Football Playoff.

The Irish continued their revenge tour, taking down NC State nearly a year after a disheartening 10-3 loss. Here are three takeaways in light of the Irish’s latest victory over top ten competition.
