UW has the coaching edge

Ever since Boise State upended Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl with Chris Peterson at the helm, you knew that this guy was gonna be something special. While posting a nearly 90 percent winning percentage there, he went on to Washington. Peterson is 18-3 in the last 21 games. His .822 winning percentage put him in the top 11 winningest coaches of all time.

These records have been going on since 1869! He only trails coach Urban Meyer as coaches with the best winning percentage that are still active. That percentage tops Nick Saban and Bear Bryant.

Of course, there is always going to be people saying that the competition he played against weren’t nearly as tough as the SEC. But he’s had an astounding career regardless. In just his third year, Peterson tied the 1991 Husky team that went 12-0. Additionally, the double-digit win season was the first since 2000. And he’s heading for that same achievement again in 2017.

Peterson has the huge advantage here.
